Welcome to the RRPictureArchives.NET contributor site of Hank Stephens.
Hi, y'all from the Deep South area of the United States. I am a railfan and modeler hailing from Lanett, AL. If you remember Alan Jackson's song back in the 1990s, I can tell you I live just "a stone's throw" as the song says "way down yonder on the Chattahoochee".
These pages contain railroad subjects ranging from my college days at Auburn University all the way to present. If I find all my old negatives, we might even go back a little further. I was raised nearby in LaGrange, GA where the former Atlantic Coast Line (AB&C) Lineville Subdivision crossed what was once the West Point Route (A&WP/WofA). These two lines are now both part of CSX Transportation's Atlanta Division and I live on the A&WP at its former southern terminus of West Point, GA. In my college days, I ranged over most of the South, taking pictures of shortlines and regionals on a fairly regular basis and these are one of my favorite railfanning and photgraphic subjects.
I am also a prototype freelance modeler in HO scale, currently building a layout based on a modern era "what if" version of a regional turned Class One called the Georgia Road. In addition to these prototype offerings, I own two Yahoo Groups that archive my modeling concept and layout and model building efforts.
